FBC has Paid nursery workers!

Having paid workers allows us to follow through with health and safety protocols as well as offer the best care. The nursery workers are interviewed by a committee of people involved in the children’s ministry, a background check is completed, and evaluations are completed annually. During the 11 o’clock service, we have a rotating church volunteer join the nursery workers as well.

What will my child be doing?

We focus on the needs of the child. Some need time to acclimate to the room by walking around and touching everything, others need a cuddle, while some just need the distraction of a good snack. We feel that by meeting the individual needs of your child, we’re teaching them that church is a safe place that cares about them. We have a pager system so that parents can be easily reached, should a problem arise. We value the directions and preferences of the parent as we believe you will let us know how best to take care of your child.

Bible Friends

Bible Friends is a program held during the 11 o’clock service and is intended for four year old’s through second grade.

Bible Friends begins after the children’s story portion of the worship service and ends once the service is over. This class is taught by one paid worker and one volunteer. We currently use a wonderful curriculum from Illustrated Children’s Ministry. We have allowed for children, outside of the age range, to attend Bible Friends.

We do encourage you to help your children learn about and participate in the worship service as they are ready. Our church welcomes children into the sanctuary and values their contributions to worship and worship leadership.

Sunday School

Preschool

Our Preschool Sunday school is currently provided by our paid workers.

School Age

School age Sunday school is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade.

The children begin in one large group where we catch up with each other and have a time for praises and prayer requests.

We celebrate the birthdays of the month on the first Sunday, with donuts! Once the opening time is completed children move to their individual classes.

Kindergarten through second grade attend a class together using the Holy Moly curriculum.

Third through fifth graders are together, using the Holy Moly curriculum.

This curriculum provides videos, hand on activities and take-home material! Each child is able to engage in ways that best suit them!

Wednesday Evening Activities

Preschool

Led by our paid nursery workers, children enjoy Bible stories, crafts, and free play!

School Age

On Wednesday evenings, the school agers have ample time to discuss what’s on their mind, and what’s happening in their lives.

The Bible study time is missions focused and throughout the year there are opportunities for service projects. We enjoy a good game night, and every year we end with an ice cream party!
